travels across the Friday sky

the rocket quietly breaks through the blue, lightless heavens

makes my thoughts wander,
it is almost the rebirth of time
as the burning-orange light dies out
as the white lights of the city absorb another life
the night is here
and it has vanished already
across space
across time
the news arrived late
and Coltrane was still playing
"it's easy to remember"
